About Dynamic Ratings | Condition Based Monitoring

About Dynamic Ratings

Our top priority is to help utilities successfully deploy and manage their condition monitoring programs to improve the safety and reliability of their assets across the grid. We provide condition-based monitoring products and services to the utility industry.

How We Can Help

target

1. Improve Business Performance Through Asset Management

1 out of every 200 transformers experience a major failure each year. The safety and cost risks of an unexpected failure can be catastrophic.

We know that when it comes to monitoring, one size does NOT fit all. There are many options available to asset managers and we are here to listen to your needs and find a solution that works for you. If you aren’t sure where to start, check out our solutions page on online condition monitoring.

2. Provide an exceptional experience with our LIFESTREAM™ Support Services

These days, utilities are challenged to do more with less. Reduced staffing, budget constraints and loss of industry knowledge are changing the way business must be done. Condition-based monitoring is part of the solution that helps create more efficient teams by eliminating repetitive maintenance tasks.

Dynamic Ratings offers a large range of services to support our customers’ goals. We help with planning, designing, project management and implementation. To learn more about the services we offer, visit our LIFESTREAM™ page.

3. Share knowledge, training and resources

What should I monitor? What do I do after I purchase a monitor? How do I interpret the data? There are many questions involved in the process of implementing condition-based monitoring. Our experts are always available to pick up the phone.

We offer a large range of webinars for those who are learning more about monitoring. For our customers we offer trainings, user group meetings, and a customer resource portal to stay connected.

Electricity networks are changing, and loads have increased and are less predictable. There is an uptake of electric vehicles, and distributed energy resources such as solar PV, data center consumption, and vehicle-to-grid are examples of new dynamics straining the historically passive medium and low voltage distribution networks...
While mechanical gauges have been reliable tools for temperature monitoring for decades, their limitations are becoming more pronounced as industries demand higher accuracy, better data integration, and more sophisticated transformer monitoring capabilities. For many years the limit for normal apparatus loading was based on the maximum nameplate rating or an arbitrarily set value, called “the red line.”...
Transformer monitoring is not a one-size-fits-all approach due to the varied operational environments, transformer types, and specific needs of different power systems. The choice between Key Gas and Multi gas depends on several factors including the criticality of the transformer, the type of load it handles, the environmental conditions, and the maintenance strategy of the utility or industrial operator...
