Job Description: Dynamic Ratings, Inc. seeks a Field Service Engineer who will use electrical and electronics engineering software and equipment to ensure proper functionality of the company’s monitoring, control and communication products and technology while in use at high-voltage electrical substations and power plants. While analyzing and monitoring the company’s equipment in the field, the Field Service Engineer will focus on the equipment’s capacity, reliability and efficiency. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a closely related field; plus at least 1 year of experience in the high-voltage utility industry including installation and commissioning duties. As an intern, you will support our Development Engineering team which designs Dynamic Ratings’ equipment and solutions.
Some responsibilities include:
Test – participate as a member of the development team to test printed circuit boards (PCBs) and equipment, including running software to test PCBs
Repair – use troubleshooting skills to repair PCBs and equipment
Evaluate – determine status of PCBs and report on findings.
Internship Requirements: The ideal candidate will enjoy a team environment and be flexible to work independently where needed.
Additional job requirements:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field
Completion of basic electronics classes
Electronic troubleshooting skills
Ability to use voltmeter, oscilloscope, and to hand solder
Good verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in MS Office Suite
Ability to work approx. 15 hours/week during school year
