Dynamic Ratings is part of the Wilson Transformer group of companies, which include design, development, manufacture and service of distribution and power transformers in 3 countries and a joint venture with TJ|H2b for oil and SF6 testing and diagnostics.

Dynamic Ratings grew out of Wilson Transformer Co (WTC)'s development of a PLC-based transformer management system in the early 1990's. WTC realized the limitations of PLCs for this application and decided to develop more robust hardware especially for use in power stations and electricity supply sub-stations.

Dynamic Ratings presently has two office locations. The Dynamic Ratings Pty Ltd office is located in Glen Waverley, VIC Australia and serves all end customers outside of the Americas. Dynamic Ratings Inc office in Pewaukee, WI, serves all end customers within the Americas.
